Coconut College is a new cocos2d Tutorial website that looks really promising. Right now there seem to be only 3 tutorials online but I really like the writing and the layout (albeit the layout is a bit too wide/big for my taste). Kudos to whoever made it. Don’t forget, you remain elusive until you add a “About me” page. Comments would also be nice. Hint, hint. 😉
I very much enjoy the learning process, the pushing of boundaries (mine and yours and that of technology), having the freedom to pursue whatever is on my mind, to boldly program what no one has programmed before, and to write about what I've learned. Help me help you by browsing the products in the Learn Cocos2D Store.

I’m the Dean of Coconut College, and I wanted to say thanks for mentioning us. A note to you and all your readers, Coconut College is still under heavy development. In fact, I’m working on a complete rewrite at the moment, and my goal is to complete the site by the time Cocos2d 1.0 ships.
Do you really think the layout is too wide? I’ll admit that I have little or no web design skills, but I kind of like the way it looks, and it displays nicely on the iPad. I’m not quite sure I’m going to add and ‘About’ page, this is more of a stealth operation for me.
Anway, you have a great site here, and I’m impressed with how much you’ve contributed to Cocos2d learning. Keep up the good work.
Hi Dean, nice to hear from you. You’re doing a great job on Coconut College!
I’m not really a web designer either. I noticed that the font, images and minimum width of the pages appeared to be quite large. It seems to be close to 1024 pixels wide, which is the same as my blog and most others, I guess. But what makes the difference is that the text spans over the whole width of the webpage, and the font is rather large. Zooming in to 80% feels about quite right. Other than that, I think the site feels very professional and polished, especially compared to what’s out there. You got the looks and you seem to be on the right way, content-wise.
>> I’m not quite sure I’m going to add and ‘About’ page, this is more of a stealth operation for me. << That’s curious, why so? I say, take some pride in your work. It also connects you with your readers, who will want to know more about the person who is running the site and provides all the content anyway. That’s part of the idea of blogging. Unless you’re in a witness protection program, in that case … 😉 Anyway, let me know if you made any significant updates and I’ll be happy to blog it!
Dean, so far, nice work on the College site. How about an RSS or email or something to let us eager students know when a new course is ready, or other announcements? Thanks!
